Some day soon we will be accepting quilts for quilting on our gammel long arm quilting machine. Until then, here are some tips for preparing a quilt for machine quilting:

Tips for Preparing a Quilt for Machine Quilting

1. Backing and batting should be 6 to 8 inches larger than the quilt top.
2. Remove the selvage edge when piecing the backing.
3. Backing seams should be ½ inch.
4. Press backing seams open.
5. Press your quilt top and backing.
6. Check all seams to be sure they are stitched completely. Repair if necessary.
7. Square the quilt top, backing and batting.
8. Trim all threads.
